Steve Wright Bsc (Hons) MCOptom, FBDO

Optometrist and Director

Steve is passionate about making your eye examination a relaxed, informative and memorable experience. Apart from working as an Optometrist and Dispensing Optician, his vast experience and sense of adventure has taken him all over the world. Steve loves using the latest technology during his eye tests and he is accredited by the diabetic retinal screening program for the West Midlands. Steve was the driving force behind getting the intuitive colourimeter for the assessment of Meares – Irlen syndrome. When he is not at work, he is often spotted at 3000ft in a light aeroplane.

Kathryn Hartland FBDO

Dispensing optician and Director

Kathryn is a Dispensing Optician and has worked at the practice for many years. She skilfully leads the Dispensing team and manages the practice. She is constantly striving to find the latest unique frame styles and advanced personalised lenses. Kathryn loves getting to know people and excels in dispensing distinctive eyewear. Outside work Kathryn enjoys spending time with her family which includes her black Labrador and taking leisurely walks in the park.

Optometrists

Lindsey Leek BSC(hons) MCOptom

Lindsey joined the practice shortly after qualifying as an Optometrist in 2005. As an experienced member of our team Lindsey loves having the professional freedom to spend as long as necessary during the eye test. She also likes having the latest eye testing technology at her fingertips so that she can diagnose any eye related issues quickly. She has the diabetic retinal screening scheme accreditation and she specialises in Colourimetry to help with Meares Irlen Syndrome. She has a very busy life at home bringing up her young children and spending time with her extended family.

Lesley Mason BSC (hons) MCOptom

Lesley has worked as an Optometrist for 23 years. She joined the practice in 2015 and loves spending time with our patients to ensure they get the highest level of eye care possible. In her spare time, Lesley likes visiting friends and spending time on holiday in Cornwall.

Audiologists

Mohammed Faisal (BSc)

Mohammed decided to undertake a degree in Audiology, working hard to gain the qualification. Following his course of study, Mohammed worked within an occupational health company before making the decision to join The Hearing Care Partnership.

“I decided to The Hearing Care Partnership because of their strong founding values and focus on patient-centered care, as well as getting the opportunity to get hands on with the very best technology. I really look forward to being able to make a difference to the lives of my patients and seeing all of my family benefit from the care they can receive in THCP clinics.”

Outside of work Mohammed is a fan of sports and particularly enjoys football and MMA. He has a keen interest in politics and keeping up with world affairs.

Dispensing

Kate Weavell FBDO

Kate is a Dispensing Optician and has worked for Malcolm Gray since leaving university. She loves being involved in selecting new frame ranges and has a keen eye for style and in particular colour. She also has an interest in children’s dispensing and spends time choosing frames suitable for coloured lenses to help with Irlens Syndrome. Kate loves the outdoors and she spends a lot of time with her young family both in the UK and in France.

Natasha Quigley-Jones

Dispensing Assistant

Natasha started working on Saturdays in her parents practice when she was aged 15. She continued working at the practice whilst studying at Leeds Metropolitan University for a BA Hons degree in Sociology. Natasha has the optics profession in her blood and is now an experienced dispensing assistant. Outside work Natasha enjoys travelling to places of historical interest and spending time with her Yorkshire terrier, Paddy.

Clinical support

Wendy Smith

Wendy joined us in 2014 with over 20 year’s previous experience. She enjoys working as a Clinical Assistant and she especially enjoys making our patients feel welcome. Outside work, you will find Wendy either at a rock concert with her friends or spending time at home with her husband and 2 teenage boys.

Gemma Miles

Gemma started working at the practice in 2001 when she had just left school at the age of 18. She started as a receptionist and worked her way up to be Practice Manager. Gemma is on first name terms with many of our patients and she takes pride in ensuring they get the best possible service when they are with us. In 2014, Gemma got married and now has a young daughter. Outside work, Gemma enjoys watching her daughter grow up and socialising with family and friends.

Kate Baker

Dispensing / clinical assistant

Kate joined our team in 2019, bringing many years or experience in the optical profession with her. Kate will always go the extra mile to find the perfect fitting frame and best lenses for your eyewear. Kate spends her spare time bringing up her young family.
